After years of experience in the real estate field, Otis Shipman, owner and lead appraiser, formed Orleans Appraisal & Consulting, LLC with the goal of providing superior appraisal services in this ever-changing appraisal industry. Otis, with his staff of real estate appraisers, has achieved this by combining the tried and true fundamentals of valuation while utilizing state of the art technology of today.
Otis is a native to New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in the now popular Irish Channel neighborhood. He received his diploma from Eleanor McMain Magnet and studied visual arts at New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA). Otis Shipman’s passion for art and design led him to study Architecture at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. He is also a formally trained Chef and spent most of his twenties working in world class restaurants with some of Louisiana’s most noteworthy chefs. Although he found great success in his former life as a Professional Chef, he always desired a career with more flexibility and autonomy. He found this in his career as a Real Estate Appraiser. Otis’ diverse background and years of hard work, attention to detail and professionalism, provides him a valuable and unique perspective for appraising real estate in Greater New Orleans and beyond.
